Thumbs

This is a thumb that I am working on in my ART100 class. I am not very artistic and I have no idea what I am doing. I just follow the directions online the best I can. I kind of like this thumb though. It reminds me of a wedding cake with pieces of the cake lined up all around it. The wedding cake is sideways though. I can't wait until this ART class is over.

I am still trying to learn how to trace project 2 part b and I can not figure it out at all. Can anyone help me out? I read the tutorials but I still can't figure it out at all. The pen tool doesn't work right for me. I can't figure out how to trace my picture with it. Everytime I get a few lines going it cuts my picture off.

This is one of my drawn studies for my class project I am working on. It is unfinished. I am now working on part B of this project. As soon as I figure out how to use the software correctly I will finish my project and upload it here. I can't figure out how to work the pen tool in the illustrator correctly. I do not know where to start the pen at and where to end it at. If anyone has any tips for me please leave feebback? I wish I could draw good then maybe it would be easier.
